Title: Into the maze...
Name: Michal Matczak
... in a brave seach for bathroom. Teddy wants to pee, you know.
... and I do, too...
Here's another entry for the Gnomon contest - I wanted to show a blend of an imaginative world of children and a real worl of grownups. My son just born and it wasn't ages ago, when I was little, so I kinda relate to the picture, even if there's a girl in it :P
I hope you like it :)
EDIT - I changed the top of the illustration - dimmed the stars, that seemed too strong - you might click on the image to see the edited version.

good job (except the stars ...) !
4 stars !

Hey - thanks. :) The stars were meant to be the wallpaper on the ceiling, that has stars, that glow - phosphoresce, when you turn off the light.

beauty lighting you darwing, nice!:)

Great idea and painting. I actually got that the stars were on the ceiling - I think the trees mess with your mind and make you think it's an outdoor scene. Cool!

Idea is perfect...the painting style is more perfect.....and the perspective is most perfect!!!:applause:
I didn't like it at first look because of the stars too, but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. It has character and is definitely very unique. #2 ftw hehehe!
Very well done, 5 * from me.

Thank you very much, guys, for the compliments :) I hope I win something, the competition was fierce, though... I'll probably win nothing, like the last time, but I learn a lot while making those illustrations. :)
EDIT - I changed the sky/ceiling in the illustration, but it probably doesn't show correctly - the forums have trouble when editing the first post, the changes doesn't show. Anyway - when you click onto it, it'll show correctly.

This is wonderful, very imaginative, and it has a mystical feel, great job!

Great job! I think it accomplished everything you had in mind, with that mix of fantasy and a very recognizeable real-world environment. Dimming the stars greatly improved the balance of the piece too, nice touch. I think it deserves 5 stars.

WHen a man hears all those good words, suddenly all those evenings spent on painting pay off... :D Of course creating a good illustration - an act of creation itself - is rewarding enough, but it's ... ALWAYS very good to hear that others like it :D
To be 100% sure it shows the right img - I attach it :)
EDIT - it's showing corectly now, deleting this one.
