Hey - thanks. :) The stars were meant to be the wallpaper on the ceiling, that has stars, that glow - phosphoresce, when you turn off the light.

Great idea and painting. I actually got that the stars were on the ceiling - I think the trees mess with your mind and make you think it's an outdoor scene. Cool!

Thank you very much, guys, for the compliments :) I hope I win something, the competition was fierce, though... I'll probably win nothing, like the last time, but I learn a lot while making those illustrations. :)

EDIT - I changed the sky/ceiling in the illustration, but it probably doesn't show correctly - the forums have trouble when editing the first post, the changes doesn't show. Anyway - when you click onto it, it'll show correctly.

Great job! I think it accomplished everything you had in mind, with that mix of fantasy and a very recognizeable real-world environment. Dimming the stars greatly improved the balance of the piece too, nice touch. I think it deserves 5 stars.

WHen a man hears all those good words, suddenly all those evenings spent on painting pay off... :D Of course creating a good illustration - an act of creation itself - is rewarding enough, but it's ... ALWAYS very good to hear that others like it :D
