I had become kind of bored and slightly brain dead from the amount of time i spent on my Ghost Rider model, so after some thought i decided to start making my own version of Leather Head from TMNT.
I got the idea after viewing some 80's+90's cartoon intros on Youtube. I spent a couple of hours doodling some concepts and came up with the image below.

I thought it was about time i actually had a go at creating a low and high res model for creating normal maps. So like with my GR model this has been a case of trail and error, thanx to the top tutorial written by GavinG on his Thrull model i managed to figure out how to go about creating the model.
The base mesh was creating using studio max, i used a modified Biped as a reference for the body shape and static pose. The model was then exported to Zbrush where high res model was made.

Cool idea and great start.
You have some real extreme exagerations in this model that dont feel believable just yet.
The hands seem to large giving an almost cartoony feel.
The head is still a little to round and could use bit more definition.
The huge Popeye like forearms really bug me and the rest of the arms still look like scaled cyclinders without any real muscle definition.
I think with a bit more time you coulud have a real killer looking character.

I would work on shaping out the shoulders and the elbow areas. Currently you have them bulked out, but not really with any muscle definition. Your concept art really defines his muscles as being typical humanoid, I would work on carrying that through to your model. The problem areas I see are the upper back around the trapezius and deltiods and the biceps and triceps of the arms could use a little more work, especially around the muscle insertion around the elbow. The knee could also stand a little work, at the moment, it seems that he has no knee cap. I love your concept art and with some tweaking you could get your model to resemble it more closely. Get the model worked out and all of your body masses well defined and then texturing in your details should fall into place. Don't jump the gun on your texturing, it will just cause frustration. Good progress though, keep up the good work! It's coming along.

Thanks for the feedback guys, i had completely overlooked the areas your on about. I just tweaked the model a bit to improve the defenition around the upper body and it really does improve the over all flow of the mesh.
I appreciate the advice ill try and get a quick update up later on today.

i dig the overall proportions, but i am not diggin the length of the fingers. crocs and alligators have shorter chubbier mitts and fingers. his core is so stocky that the long fingers you have look out of place.

i like it though. i am a huge TMNT fan, and did the croc.

I have actually shortened the length of his digits i will probably make them a little thicker to.

Much better, the muscle definition is really starting to stand out! I really like the changes to the abs and pecs. The only proportion i might change is the lower arm seems a bit long, but that may be me being thrown off by the long fingers. One area I just noticed, maybe give him a bit more of an elbow? the back of his arm seems pretty flat. Also, maybe revisit the neck, model in a few of the muscles in the front. I like the thickness though, dont change that, just rework some of the details. Good progress! Keep it up!

Starting to look good bro. :)

I'd suggest that you make the wrists and forearms a bit thicker. At the moment they're a little thin when compared to the hands and upperarms. I think that the legs could also use some more work, especially around the knees and ankles.
