View Full Version : help! bp3 brush and color preset
pianoman3d 07-01-2007, 02:40 AM Hi I have bp3 and I cannot see any brush preset when I open the brush preset window. Help me how can I load a preset on it, unlike on bp2.5 where you already have presets when you open the brush preset dialog.

In the small brush preview window you’ll see a “tiny little black triangle” click on that.

But when I try to click the small triangle all i get is this

unlike on bp 2.5 where you have the option to import a preset. Here is the link:

Is there any way I can import a color or brush preset on bp3?

On the subject of BodyPaint brushes, is there a way to use accurate brushes like Photoshops. What I mean is you have 2 options in Photoshop an icon or a ring that is the size of the brush. In Bodypaint I have only ever used the brush Icon which I find distracting.

“pianoman3d”, try this:
create a sphere (or else) - open BP 3D Paint or BP UV Edit -
open the Attributes-Tab / in the Toolbar select (click) the “Brush Tool for Painting Textures”,
the Brush-settings should be visible now - a “small square” and a “bigger rectangular” one,
with the settings below -
click the smaller one - and you should see all the “brush-presets”.

PS:
In the “Content Browser” please check the “Body Paint Presets”
the brushes should be all there (locked by default).

Hi Nolan, I did that and there is really nothing in the preset dialog.

No brush preset can be found even if I open the brush preset window. Even in the Content browser, all i can see is Preset ----> Default but that's empty and I cannot see any brush preset there. Is this a bug? But I downloaded the lastest update, installed it and the same thing happens.

If you don’t have the “Body Paint Presets” including the brushes
in your “Content Browser” or anywhere else, than of course your
“preset-brush-window” wont be there.
I am not sure if the brushes can be downloaded via the Maxon
“Materials & Goodies” page.
Are the other presets like “Colours” / Gradient Tool” / “Low Poly Girl” /
“Village” / “Weshead” / Add Ons” / and “Humans” missing as well ?
Then you might have to do a complete reinstall from your Release 10 disk
(it looks like something is missing there).

Only the brush and color presets are missing. I checked the library folder where the pattern for the brush presets are located and I can see all the patterns there so I think nothing is missing, just the presets.
I have BP 2.5 and I exported all its brush presets and I tried to import it on BP 3 but there is no option in BP3 to load the presets. Is this a bug?

Well, I can see the brushes (all in separate folders) in the Content-Browser
apart from the preview-window in BP.
If I open the Cinema 4D application (in my Application-folder) / library / browser
I can see the “Unix Executable file” - “bodypaintpresets.lib4d” ,
apart from a few other .lib4d-files - (using Mac OSX 10.4.10).
In the pattern-folder I can view about 101 JPG’s and TIFF’s (brush-pattern).
I am not sure how to import brush-presets from BP2.5 to BP3
(I never used BodyPaint before R10).

Here is a solution. Download the Bodypaint 3 Demo from Maxon. Unzip it. Copy the lib4d files from the browser folder to your installation browser folder. Problem solved!
