View Full Version : 3d animation+stills:"orange surfers van"
Khepri 03-22-2003, 12:22 AM hi yall!
I finished this couple of weeks back, but didnt have time to put it all together due to schoolwork(graduation year and all) this is a little doodle for my showreel.
I am going to make a longer animation with the van since its a "funky" type of object to animate.
the furry-driver is also known as a totoro(I have been told... right Neil?!)
animation (http://www.rain3danimator.com/video/van2.mov)(Quicktime)

he he I love that, what program did you use to make this? (I am guessing Maya) I've been looking into toon shading and such. I really like your particle dust. Good work

BooRadley: I'm guessing Brazil ;)
Khepri : Great rendering style. Love the dust anim too. I think the truck should be a little bouncier though.
How fast is the toon rendering? (...in Brazil?)

yeah, thats definitely brazil. he even has the splutterfish logo on the side ;)
_d1: the render times aren't as bad as you would think. my cars that are an average of 20k poly's are about a 5min render at 640x480 at intermediate quality.

thnx for the comments+crits people!
BooRadLey : thnx for the comment, I use max&brazil
vts31: thnx :) the dust is something I had been playing with for some time, and how it looks with the toon+ inking
_d1 : I tried to make it more bouncy, but then the weight of it would stop excisting!
rendering times are between 4 and 12 minutes(due to the large amounts of particles that appear on screen and need to be set-up by max), oh and that is at 720x576!
slice56 : what can I say ;) ? its a cool logo
