To dear moderators:
What did I do wrong? Why my work was removed shortly after I posted it? was the image too large or maybe I've insolted some one? Or maybe I broke some rools?
Please do not remove my work.. I am really sorry I will not do anything like this anymore I promise...

very nice..though i think the legs should be much longer ....it looks a little stout to be as agile as a bug. Maybe the legs should be able to extend when needed?

Awsome, reminds me of the robots from the Ghost in the Shell TV series.

Hey, looks really cool, im new to this forum and i love all the real creativity i see here! this is a great model. the only thing that looks strange is there apprears to be no bump between white, blue, and glass materials. I think even the slightest hint of a transition will improve the look.
good luck, have fun

Hi again...
renderdrunk: Nice of u to notice it... Well my bug is agile ;) cause it can fly... The legs are for climing on rouph enviroment... And I think even if it would be more agile it couldn't run on it ... Well in any case I'd wanted to show u it's bottom side... so, I... woops tripped it :applause:

Hi,
Great colour scheme, make the bug look kinda "poisonous" looking.

thanx for support everyone!!
Squidinc: I gotta confess. The Idea for coloring my model came to my head directely after visiting your site. I saw those cute bots and little cars of yours and desided that I must try to make somthing at least as half as good looking as yours ...
And another thing.. Sorry but no.. this is not Cinema 4D... Dis is Xsi... I knew that Cinema 4Dwas a good 3Dsoftware, but after seeing your works my respect grew and grew a lot more
Afcource I still got a long way to go with xsi.. Because I'me very week with textureing... But then Again.. what gives... I got all the time in da world ;)
... emm hope I'm not over reacting

last render reminds me of the Headcrabs in Half-life :)
course if you want to see a kneet Headcrab look into C4software.net's mod Darktruths, THEY got a nice new headcrab design.

Nice model  .
Maybe some reflections on the blue parts ? :)
Or nice dirty textures ?:D
Hey man really nice model.
It look really well thought out, it'd be nice to maybe see an animation of it. Also I like the renderings but think the model would be even cooler with some military style dirty banged up textures on it.

This is one of the best pieces of 3d art that I have ever seen. I love the whole idea, reminds me of the bug from ghost in the shell on PSX. I like the first two images except no so much the one with eyes, I like the ones with the helmet more.

Yes.. Yes.. I know... Those Eye do not fit.. .It' ust somthing I found out while modifeing my model a bit.. It just looks a little more stupid :argh: ... sorry guess.. it was just a product of my tiered brain

Was it modelled with subdivision surfaces? I would love to see a low res version of the mesh if that is the way you made it. :)
wow excellent excellent model! love the attention to detail and teh simple yet effective texturea! like squdiinc said, it looks a bit like it was done in c4d, but i spose xsi is cool as well  , since the style reminds a little a lot of squidincs work!

Hi again...
xeno: guess u r right ... It does remind the style of Squidinc works... It was originally the blow to my head that triggered the creation of this model after I visited Squidinc's homepage...
Now I have some ideas to develop this style in to somthing of my own... so that to become a little more original.. But that'll be another story... Anyways.. gotta go back to the first message and write a p.s.
nalhcal: Your wish is my command

Beautiful!
Great modeling, very clean model!
Did you model this from sketches you did or is it free style?

nalhcal: thanx fo your support.. I really apreciate it
Tony Richardson: It's a free style I guess... I modeled it starting from the head, then the body and the legs... Althogh I had to sktetch legs before I'd start modeling them...
Psycholink: Ok I'll post the wire frame a little later...

I like the model a lot, but I think if you made the material rougher, for a more realistic, beat up kinda look, it would top it off and be a awsome pic.
but other then that its great!

very, veRY, VERY COOL!!!
<somewhat offtopic>
what is this process of "subdivision"? I can see that one is more smooth, but how is this done? There are not more polys only more "roundness"... how would something like that be done in cinema 4d?

Hi again!
Like I promised here is the wireframe view of a bug
http://3d.impro.lt/exanju/bug/wire3.jpg
McNeely: process of subdivision is basicaly smoothing the object.. I it devaidz poligons in smaller equell parts if it is a 4 edged poligon subdevision will devide it in 4 equell parts. But It not only devides polygons... It also devides the angle of the polygons standing next to each other, thats why objects look smothier. For example if you have 2 polygons standing nex to each othe toching with 1 edge and the angle between them is 90' then subdevided 2 polygons will become 8 bent equelly so then the some of their angles will be 90'... Well this is just very basic subdivision. There are multiple levels of subdivision. You can subdivide the same objects over and over again, until you will be satisfide with results or until your pc crashes. :D Because every subdivision rases your objects polycount 4 times..
Emm... I hope I wrote at least half as understandible as it should be  and sorry for my bad english

Hi again...
Sorry for butting in.. But I jaust wanted to show you one of my later tries to change the main color for the bug... I rendered the two of them this time - one original and the other one with new color.. I gave some reflectivity to it as some of you asked.. Don't know if it really looks better, but I think that red color does suit to it... Well in any case, I leave it for you to judge...

hey, i like blue better in this case.
the lack of reflectivity in the one on the right make it look like the blue is rubber, like a toy.
im not sure it makes a huge difference. Its cool, looks like there is going to be a fight sceen up comming with thoes two. anyway, keep it up
edit: btw, what program did you use to model this?
