View Full Version : maya transforming problem?

I am using Bevel+ to bevel some text.

Now, I want to deform the NURBS surface maded of the letter 'x' with Bend deformer... I have grouped the surfaces of the letter, and I assigned Bend to the group.

The problem is that every surface is deforming for it self! They are not deforming like a group, u know, some surfaces deform 'faster' and some 'slower'.
I have deleted history for surfaces, and freezed transformations - the problem remains. Don't know whatzzz the prob. ...

TIA for help...

p.s. sorry about bad english :)

and, maybe it's important...
it's not the regular text, it is imported AI curve... (I am working on some logo)

have you tried combining the surfaces of the text. IE make it all one surface. maybe make it all a polygon, then "combine" the pieces, then smooth it out later.

maybe a lattice would work just as well as the deformer.

just some thoughts.

I think the reason this is happening is because NURBS text objects use trimmed surfaces.

I would recommend converting the surfaces to polys & combining them.

Hope this helps.
