Sorry for the vauge nature of my post......but I was wondering if any of you could help me out with a rending quesiton? I've been looking around at the work in these threads(amazing stuff) and I keep seeing preview renders(flat shaded) that have an almost clay like grittyness to them. Im using Maya 4.5 with Mental Rays, and have yet to achieve this visual look. If anybody could help me out with lighting tips, or render settings that would be greatly appriciated. Ive checked out a bunch of online tutorials but most for Mental Rays are how to pull of realisitc reflections, or how to make objects very shiny.

thanks:thumbsup:
