I Enjoyed reading your blog.

Rendering wise its a matter of experimentation. A few photographs and the picture of the original painting will help you set the mood. Overall
a sandy area with lots of light would work.

Do you have any reference of the look you are trying to approach?

Hi DMCA!

Your animation looks good but I think the way you're approaching it could be a little bit better. I think the story needs more information and more background on the characters, specialy the character they are about to shoot. I think that story is not strong enough.

Another thing I would say, is to apply the 12 principles of animation to the max. I think there is a lack of movement and story. Plan well the whole story! From pre-production to post-production and final product. It's also good to have concept designs and Animatics as well.

The last thing I would recommend to change is the name or word "Cabron". The reason why I say this is because in the HISPANIC community, (Some Hispanic Countries) the word cabron is used as a bad word. From where I'm from, the word Cabrón is used also as a man that cheats on his wife. I tell you this because I wouldn't want anybody that see this to get offended or take the wrong way.

Hope this helps!
Javier Loredo.

hello RobertoOrtiz,
yes i´ve been told about it, that cabron would means "bastard", and that the world, he is a bloody bastard being sick on duty, he should have stayied at home, he is the one who scrool up everything, an idiot, and the story is in mexico...I dunno...thanks for your opinion

hi JavierLoredo
the problem i had was that i couldn´t be longer , much longer than 1 min, it´s a part of the brief, and also i had only 2 months from the scratch to end to do this animation.
I had tha sick guy caming from the hospital but i cut out leaving only a sneeze to represent his illness.
sorry matte, but I´v really tried to aplied those principles, the animatic is here and also the storyboard.(i´m just new, that is my second animatio ever)

Hey dmca,

In english, "bastard" is a slur that refers to a child that is born without legitimate parents (and thus can be offensive to some). It could have just been a translational mistake, but "bastard" doesn't really have to do with being sick, or an idiot.

thanks again, I gonna think about another title. something like.....wrong day to be sick...or...dunno..english is not my first language...in portuguese i would name it: coitado ou azarado....
maybe " a poor soldier"
hihih
