View Full Version : Nukei broken under 8.1?

Nukei doesn't seem to be generating bumps correctly.

I'm attaching a render of one of the SLA sample files. You can see what it should look like on pg. 798 of the manual (in color in the pdf).

mac OSX BTW

I'm pretty new at this, so it could be me... if so, any help would be appreciated.

That's because it relies on a dense mesh to show detail. Increase the number of isoparms in your surface (sub-divisions) and render. You should see the results you are looking for . . . .

Careful, don't go too high.

I don't think that's it. The same file renders properly in 7.3. Unless 8.1 for some reason needs more isoparms? I tried up to 72 sub-divisions on a sphere with no visible change.

I forgot to say that it's just a sample file that Maxon distributed with 7.3. I don't know if it came with 8 as well. Anyway, I haven't touched it. I was messing around with Nukei this morning, and couldn't get it too behave, so I went back to this sample file to take my newbie skills out of the loop.

Thanks,
jt

I have that scene and it just rendered fine here under 8.1.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I can't figure it out. I've reinstalled the program, I've pulled all my 3rd party plugs, still no bumps in Nukei. As you can see from the post, I get the colour shifts between the two mats, but there's no bump to the fusing layer. All the other bhodi volume shaders are fine. And it seems like no one else is having a problem. Time to hit tech support, I guess.
