Lol, I think you captured the idea very well! I didn't really know it wasn't that little boy's teddy at first, we need more clues...I thought the other one was just acting up at first!
Maybe have the bear wear the same t shirt as his owner?

Art2
07-01-2007, 07:54 PM
I think Theresa has a point...

LOL, maybe replace the boy by the little Teddy's big, huge Momma.
Something like, girl is pulling out lil Teddy's eye and Momma jumps in to inflict some pain, heheh....

Here's a new sketch/concept.

Every kid has his superhero right? While holding his favorite comicbook, he stands on the roofedge/top of the building they live in and watches the streets, looking for some crime.

Also been thinking of making him jump, with his mother (just a second to late) in the background screaming and reaching out for him.. More to come!

Hi Michael,

I love all that sense of humor very easy to relate, at least me haha!:)

I love the idea about the boy and his super costume, and his sidekick pet, and the mom following, its really funny, but in my family experience its not strange, maybe try doing the opposite the mom is the one doing the jump, and the kids are after her. But I am sure you have more…love you r style and you don’t need luck just time I think haha….

Nowadays every animal has it's part in the lions supper. The lions are king (and queens ofcourse) and wait in the background in the shadow, for the others to bring them their meal.. Prairyhounds/dogs tie the zebra down and a big stampeed (with different bigones) runs the zebra over.

Thanx for all the support guys!

Parents looking back in the photoalbum they have of 'Emilia', their daughter who is doing a life-sentence for slaugtering 86 people in 6 months.. "We should have known", the mother says with a trembling voice and tears in her eyes. "How could we have missed this.."

I'm making a photoalbum in which two pictures of emilia are displayed: one playing with a 'friend' in the backyard (garden), and one pic of the class she was in in '86

Hello michael. The modeling is growing well.
About your concept well I must say that it isn't really clear for me. I thin you have to adjust it. The first time I saw the color sketch of the zebra I thought he was "turning" himself on the road to paint his stripes. That could be a strange and funny behavior. After you added some other animals on forground and it wasn't so clear to me.

I also thought on another idea with the zebra in same pose. It's again about a zebra (or horse) who wants to have stripes (that he doesn't have for the moment). He could just sunburn with a fence where its stay only one batten on 2. But what happens ? He start to burn with some smoke starting to appear. Well that's a little messy but there could be something to do with it.
Anyway your character is really great and that would be a pity not to use it.

Really nice character micheal,

Btw I didn't undrestand the concept truly also and I thought it's for my poor english! but anyway I suggest to use zebra on it anyway!
for example I'll say some prehistoric ppls use zebra as ball for football cause his stripes becomed like a ball on bottom! And some one wants shoot him at the momment!! :D

Wish you Best lucks,
mim,

Hey Michael!!! good work......

Look, as far as i understand you are going to include the lions waiting in the background for lunch, and the prairie dogs are gonna be the ones doing the dirty job, right? so i think that if you show them in the picture clearly.... (the dogs closer to the zebra, with evil expression, still holding ropes and a hammer and maybe doing an"all OK" sign to the lions back there, and of course the lions smacking their mouths in yummy spectation) it will read as a really strange jungle mafia story, and it's gonna rock, i'm sure!!:D

Keep the good work.

Hey! what happened with the big poping right eye, i liked it a lot!!

Hi guys, here's an update on the zebra.. Problem is, I don't think this concept is strange enough right now.. Any thoughts on this matter?

First of all, the zebra is looking amazing... As for strangeness, i think your idea is very good, but if you wanted, you could add a horny pervert bull (or human) going for the zebra and the zebra being more afraid of him than both the raging bulls and the lions together... yep.. i have a perverted mind... but wouldn't THAT be strange enough?:scream:

have fun,
George

Anyway love your style!(ouwe)LOLLLL

First of all, the zebra looks excellent. I really love it. :bounce:

As for the concept the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the concept was, that some small creatures (bugs or so) use the zebra as "zebra crossing" on a busy road while larger animals are waiting till the bugs have crossed the road.

Hey another dutch guy! ;), Very nice sketches michael, they look very loose and your lineweights are very good. Your zebra has a lot of characther with a great expression. I think your subject is strange enough, but i only knew what was going on in the picture when i read your story. Using a zebrahorse as a real zebra is a hilarious idea. But i dont really see the connection between the lions and the tied up zebra in the picture. Maybe you could add a dog in the foreground who is busy with tieing the zebra to the road and maybe make the lions is a more approching movement to the zebra so the message gets more clear. Hope my two cents of advice will help you:) Good luck, and keep up the great work
