Little busy so hopefully Thirdeye can also add this to the plugins threead, but I wanted to advertise it alone. THis is one fantastic pluginguys rates up there with visual selector, but definitely not just for animators.

This plugin is fantastic, we've always wanted more control over tags and this delivers it. easy tag selection delettion renaming its all there, dock it in your viewport for easy access. First of all this plugins seperates every tag into its own type, so edge selections, polygons selections vertex maps material tags claude bonet maps. Thats right you can even view claude bonet maps with this according to the object instead of the bone, so when you select an object you can see what is connected using claude bonet. But it does way more than just that.

First super handy feature in this plugin is CONVERSION. Thats right you can convert edges selections to point selections point selections to vertex maps and vertex maps to claude bonet maps, or the other way round. really cool

Its next brilliant concepts is MERGING. you can merge two selection tags together realy easily no need to activate one selection, go to the other activate it then set selection its does itall for you.

last but not least some great tools for editing claude bonet and vertex maps including CURVE and BLUR.

now remember this plugin will help anyone using C4D, but I'm going to give a character animation example of how much this plugin can help. So lets say you modeled your character and set up the bones you just need to attatch them to the mesh. Well first you looks at your selections maps see which you could use to make painting a little faster. then you activate your claudbonet tool and start painting, ONLY using 100% don't worry about smooth falloffs yet. Well that already speeds up painting, and you can easily find the selection tag to hide certain areas for p[ainting (remember they can still get painted though) once you've started the maps the CB trags should all be visible on your object in the tag manager, Now that you've got all your claude bonet maps we can blur and maybe use the curve to tweak the maps soften them a bit get that nice blending of each map.

But wait didn't I recommend its often better and faster in the editor usinf vertex maps instead of claude bonet, why aren't we making vertex maps? well vertex maps take longer to set up, first you have to use the selection tool, make sure to make a new map each time or you might just add to the curent tag and then you have to name them all, make restriction tags on each bone and make sure the names all match, man a lot of work to do the same thing. So I chose to paint using CB, I've blurred and done all the blending I needed too, now I can convert to vertex map, and not only does it make the CB maps all vertex maps, but automatically adds the restriction tags withthe correct linking throughout. man does this speedup the skinning process.

Enjoy
