.......It's Angelina Jolie, isn't it..... :hmm: *deep breath* okay, dude, thing to keep in mind-- the profile picture isn't a true profile, it's not good to use.
Apart from that-- looks like you're off to a good start, now show us some other angles! :cool:

I used this model .... (I have just seen there is a problem with the noze, too thin and the bottom seems not to be smoothed correctly)

Hmmm, the lower part is OK, but the nose isn't wide enough, especially the upper bridge part. The eyes are also too close together. (generally it is said to have at least space for one eye in between the eyes)
The brow and forehead looks to round. The side profile looks better than the front. So generally I would say take a new look at the eye/brow section.
Keep it going ! :) I am working on a high-poly head, and is tough I can say....

Ooh wow okay! Heh-- but what I said still stands... notice you can see the dark spot of her other eyebrow on the edge of that part of her face? Don't match up your profile to that lump, bring it back just a little so that it's lined up with where the spot between her brows would REALLY be. That'll keep the brow from looking lumpy and funky.
The upper lip looks pretty good, and in particular you've done quite a good job on the end of the nose, that whole section with the wings of it and the ball at the tip and everything looks great!
The area NEXT to the nose, though, is giving you some problems-- I think the weird lighting there is throwing you off. The cheek should slope up smoothly to the bridge of the nose, rather than having a kind of trench or shelf next to the inside part of the cheekbone.
Also, the outer part of her brow area is sunken in-- notice in the reference pictures there's a nice smooth overhang there to give her eye socket a nice structure, but on yours that lump above the outer corner of the eye is almost nonexistent. Tug that part out to the side a little and you'll have it.
The corners of the mouth need some work, but those are ALWAYS a pain in the rear end.
Now show us some other views, and a wire! :D
*edit* oh and make the eyeballs smaller-- the whole diameter of the eyeball should only be just a little wider than the eye itself, eyelids curve a lot more than you think they do, and tear ducts also end up being fairly deep.

good work in progress
a few thinks:
first the corners of your mouth finish in a very litle point
if you open your mouth and see you in a mirror you will see
that the are a lot of surface inside the corners dont make the mouth finish in a litle corner.
the lips are more little in x direction.
My english is very poor i hope you understand what I say.
the eyes are very near is normal to have one virtual eye in middle on the two eyes.
and the nose is more wide
see your picture refernce and study it a lot of time and you will see the diferences.

Sharky, it looks kinda like a guy at the moment! I'd soften up that jaw line a little despite the reference images. The gap between the mouth and the nose should be smaller as well, maybe move the jaw up then as well.
Pretty close otherwise to the picture, but I guess the devil is in the details.

hey sharky, Im going through the same process of modeling a female head. Im not sure but I think if you soften the eye brow bone a little it will make her look a little more female. I also agree w/ Angelus26 that you need to do something w/ her jaw. I think that you have done a great job w/ everything else. I think the ears are great ( i have had a hell of a time with the ears).

if you see the comparision you first have tpo rtesolve the proportions problem
later when you have it resolved redone the eyes mouth and a little the nose area.
vamos que debes de hacer primero que las zonas sten en sus sitio y cuando consigas eso
centrate en la zona de los ojos en aprtucular luego en la boca y por ultimo enla nariz
compara tu imagen con las referencias y veras que la nariz esta mas alta , la car es demasiado ancha y ....

Looking better all the time, Sharky!
A little more familiarity with facial structures might help-- you've got the brow looking pretty good, but the lump goes too far back. In the upper left on this pic, I've put a squiggle about where the dent of the temple ought to go.
Also, there are bands of muscle attached to the lower lip, coming up diagonally from the sides of the chin, that you've not included here-- the circle I've put on her mouth indicates the spot where the flesh just under her lip could probably use a little more substance to it.

I will see if I can modify what you've posted ... I am very grateful you draw on my picture, it's the best way for me to see what's wrong with it ...
Luigi : I've taken my model and my ref picture ... I have drawn over it and it seems that my proportions are better that you seem to tell, just a little problem about the head width and the eye (left view). I put my comparison in this linkmodel vs ref picture (http://sharky.skreel.org/anims/tete19 copie.jpg)
and here the model modified to go in the same way as the ref pic (eyes and width of the head) ... not the modifications Gnarly told (but coming soon !)

I find it helps to model a basic representation of the hair while you're working on the face... it'll help frame the face, and may help you fine tune some things.
Afterwards, I go back and do a final replacement for the hair.

ok here we go again
first you are progressing quickly you have a good proportions only problems in left view .

now you have to focuse on a the particular zone
first you are making a wrong think the sphere of the eye need to be bigger or the pupil is to little .both are wrong
in the image i have put of the eye you can see the sphere is more bigger and we only see a littel proportion of the sphere.
only when you have very opened eyes you can see the complete sphere of the iris, this make a strange visual effect you have middlle a relaxed eyes with a little iris that make looks the eye wrong

with the nose see very attented the image have alot of diferences with your nose
and the lips arent the lips of a woman they need be more bigger(anchos y menos planos deben ser mas abultados y menos rectos miralos son mucho mas curvos)

i was studing the left image and something was wrong to me
i find it hte eyes and the front of the head wear in a strange place.

is anormal tecnique when you are drawing that with lines you compare the position of the one part with another in this case y compare the position of lips with the position of the brows and you find the problem ;)

seeing this modela you can undertsnd better nodels , study who they have done ther meshhes or use and modify parts of the meshes.
for be the best tutorial is study a mesh and think whohi has done it ;)

Muchas gracias para los "links" de los "meshes". Yo voy a verlos pero lo he hecho sin "tutorial", solo "reference pictures" buscados sobre internet ...
So I speak english now ... it seems I have got more vocabulary in english than in spanish (pero yo prefiero hablar espanol, es muy cantando esa idioma !)
Just an update with the eyelashes, eyebrows, teeth and map (bump, diffuse, specular)...
I have modified the noze and nearly all that Luigi said me ...

Texture de peau avec les textures procédurales
I use this for arrive to a good variation for the skin when im happy with the skin i use tbaker or render in texture in max for have the base to the texture and later use photoshop for make the lips and eyes ....
later have well done the diffuse map play with bump and specular.
A sugestion play with the lips and make it wet , and paint it with a extravagant colour.

I used this tutorial for the eyes but I don't want to use procedural materials, just want to do it by myself, painting spots on the texture, and so on ... I want to learn !

last animation, I have modified the morph target to have a wider openning of the mouth, ... but the framerate seems to be low and the sound is too quick (just try to upload the .avi before reading it)
