Hi,

See attached image for error example. If anyone has an inkling as to why this is happening plz let me know. basically it is doing it fairly randomly (even when idle) every 5 minutes or so, causing max to crash. Irritation factor... 10 out of 10!

plz help!

:hmm:

I've never seen an error like this before. You could try reinstalling max, it usually gets rid of those little errors. Or you could have a problem of not having enough RAM. Also what operating system are you running? If your running 2000 pro, then make sure you have service pack 3 installed.

Dumb question but...

Is this "array" error related to an Array transform execution in max? Or is this an error that just comes up with whatever it is your doing at the time and nothing specific related?

I've never seen that error before. Can it be found in the manuals or on-line help (I'm not at my max to check atm)? It's fairly specific so maybe you can email discreet support with it?

Good luck!

Curious, from what i remember, that same error happened to people with 3d studio dos pirated versions :?

It isn't due to the array tool, no. I'm using a trial period version, not a pirated one. I'm using windows XP pro. It's probably the fact that it is a trial...

It seems this is a more complicated error than I was hoping it would be. I will try to get my IT guys to help.

I was not saying you were using pirated soft, sorry if you understood that. Btw, if I remember ok, that message appeared when rendering

fast response...

Thx for your understanding, yes it does happen when I go to render sometimes and also unfortunately all the rest of the time! as I said even when the program is idle. :(

I can get around it by saving every 30 secsonds... but rendering is another issue, cos it means I won't be able to leave something large rendering reliably.

I am curious though, how did they get around the failure with the dos version? any help would be appreciated.
