View Full Version : Painter X - Capture Pattern

I'm working with the updated version of Painter X on an iMac OS 10.4.10.

When I select an area that I want to capture as a pattern, I click on "Capture Pattern" from the Pattern Selector - and no dialog box appears. When I use a similar function - "Capture Paper", the dialog box comes up.

Is anyone else using Painter X on a Mac having a similar experience?

Hi,

Looks like you found a big fat bug! I'm using WinXP Home SP2 with Painter X.1 and nothing worked, including all of the methods described in Help Topics. I also tried anything else I could think of:

Changing the order in which I did things as many ways as possible
Loading a custom Patterns library since we might not be able to add to a default Patterns library

Nothing I did made the dialog box pop up or allowed me to add the Pattern to the currently loaded Patterns library.

You might want to send a report to the Corel Painter Development Team at:

painterteam@corel.com (http://forums.cgsociety.org/painterteam@corel.com)

Feel free to refer them to this thread so they can read our discussion.

Sorry I couldn't help. I'm not pleased to find the Painter X.1 Patters palette dysfunctional, but at least I have older versions where it's possible to create and save Patterns.

In the meantime, you can also open any image, go to Window > Clone Source and in the flyout menu check the file name for that image. Now you can (temporarily) use that image as a Pattern in any way you'd use a Pattern in the Patterns library.

Betty, ;)

I didn't see your name below your avatar, silly me, and didn't realize it was you 'til I read your post at TAF.

So Hi friend!

I posted a link to this thread at TAF.

See ya!

Hi Jin,

Thanks for your reply! I thought I'd come over here and post this question here as well. Patterns are kind of an esoteric thing that I don't think most Painter users work with that much.

I forgot all about the clone thing. I'll work with that. In the meantime, I'll send a message to the folks at Corel.

Hi again,

Thanks (again) for letting Corel know. If you didn't I would have and that saves me a few minutes.
