Hello,

Finally I found a little time to begin my challenge. I leave
with this first sketch which will evolve/move to refine the details
and to add can be additional elements. I left on a very simple idea
the representation of a painter combing his model, I slipped not badly
of allegorical symbols into this first sketch and there will be of
them surely others.

Comments welcome.

I don't get whats strange about this? I mean I was just the other day riding my centaur with a horse skull head taking my fresh body parts to the market. It was a long ride so I tagged the side of my horse with a babe, then out of know where my centaur found a skull. He asked me if I'd like some bread with my skull but I said no it's okay i have a little rooster on my head. I was sad because after the ride was over my easel was lost. So really don't get what so strange about this but if you see my easel can you let me know?

hehe. I'm looking forward to being uterrly mind blown by your work.

seek, I also use some textures which I manufacture with painter or
others, here to give the aspect of a painting traditional to oil.

Hey Eric, is great that you keep coming back to the image now and then, There's allways little things that scape your sight until after you hit 'save'

Everything about it i find it beautiful, so much detail to see, and the little figure among the flowers, it scares me so good...........
My one suggestion would be that the woman's visible leg has too much light on it, her knee is probably the whitest part of the picture, and that could rob atention from important parts like the man's head that is so close to it, I think you could change that white into the amber color that prevails in the image, so it doesn't stand up so much. Just my opinion.

Amazing work:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Master Paul: Charmed that small the details of likes.

SteevieWoo: Thank you for the comments and advise. There will be

little too clearly, I already will finish all the details and after
re-examining the elements to improve them. It remains me much of time.

Update of painting, I added small wings to the engineering which is
behind the rider and improved some details, but which is not
perceptible with the size of a jpg. Maintenant I think of having
arrived at the end, I will let rest the painting of my eyes to see
whether I must improve some elements.

Beautiful painting! The style on this is very unique and the details...... its just simply mind boggling. Just a quick comment on some details - the pallette would stand out a bit more with some of that washed out highlight like you put on the womans leg, maybe it wont be correct in its lighting but it'll definitely push the strangeness of the concept a bit more - basically just to focus the viewer's eye on the pallette.

Not much to say. It's great :D But I'm still going to say that maybe a little color difference between the background and the horse-thing can help to show the form of it more clearly. At least on the left side, because of the arm... You probably chose deliberately similar colors but I had to say it. Congratulations...

First large plan on painting with the principal character who is my
self-portrait, the small cock on the helmet is my Chinese astrological
sign, it also symbolizes the capacity of the light which drives out
darkness. The feathers symbols of justice among Egyptians is also the
symbol to rise, the will of directions and movements. The lion on the
armour is the representation of the father and of ascending on the
son, the snake in addition to the sign of the evil or Satan is also
symbol of wisdom and fertility here artistic fruitfulness.

I like very much the meaning and symbolism you have put into your work. And the classic style is superb. I look forward to your explanations to illuminate the iconography, which are probably no longer common knowledge.

Ordibble P. Lop: Thank you for your comments, Concerning the title of painting
"Artist combing his model" I it is not if the translation and the direction are correct because I do not speak English. But I employed in the direction to paint and not grooming, except that there is several manner of reading the action to paint, one which can simple and be joined a strange or eccentric behavior of an artist which paints on a woman by looking at apples and the other which is that the painted artist of apples thinking later being able to paint a subject much more complex than is the body of a woman.

Second large plan with other symbols:

The apple: symbol of the temptation and the fall of the man, here the
artist crunches apples and will discover the pleasure of painters the
young woman.

The centaur: Can represent the animality, the lowest impulses that
there is in the man as well as the speed of the human life, other
symbols which one finds at the Chiron centaur of mythology or he is a
tutor many heroes controlling hunting, the music, the knowledge of
medicine and arts. Here I use it like a guide for the artist.

The poison: attribute of water symbolizes fruitfulness, the love,
among first Christians it represents Jesus-Christ.

The young woman who looks herself in the mirror and shows her nudity
is an allegory of vanity and lust. Also the image of the heart, it me
interior hidden of the man.

Cranium: symbol of vanity, brittleness of the terrestrial existence of
the man, the proximity between beauty and dead.

Little genius with the torch: of the artistic inspiration the idea of
the creation of the subject is the symbol which comes to the artist.

Third large plan with other symbols:

Another engineering turns a key in the back of the played artist such

Allegory of the life of the painter through differ elements which
Constituent this painting, of which I already enumerated the principal
symbols and significances which are in the table.

Energy of the beginning of the training with the control of the tools
of the painter, follows the long road of creative search, or, between
doubt and certainty the pleasures of art are acquired in the
progression and the going beyond of oneself.

The pictorial style him also continues and finds one day can be its
Own language with through which the artist to little make emerge a
certain vision of the world or the images most insane.

In addition to simple aesthetic criteria of decorative painting, art
delivers feelings to us, tells us stories and can take us along very
far in the reflexion and the search for oneself. I like this tendency
and I hope to have done it to you shared.

Thank you for all your comments and remarks, I am glad to have taken
part in this new challenge which my licence to make a new creation of
which I would be useful myself of model liked late for a future table,
which will be carried out to him in traditional painting with oil. I
wish good luck with all the participants.

It looks to works's Dürer with, I think, a similar art idea...Also, with many details and a very expressive allegory but also very complex , with Eros, Thanathos...

good luck, Eric!

Congradulations finishing your masterpiece. It reminds me the great works of Bosch and other surrealists I admire. Excellent brush work and fantastic colors, backed with meaning all around the canvas. The way you render long hair in your images, are the dominant trademark of them to me. Best of luck in the judging system!
