I have copied a wavelet noise routine from the pixar online library and turned it into a maya 8.5 3d texture. However, I can't seem to get my head around tiling it on my surface. I had to apply a large translation to get the placement matrix to sync with the surface. I am going to try out just using a simple mod on the point coordinates so they repeat within what seems to be the noise's tile boundry. But I doubt it's that simple cause the noise needs to be blended at an overlap to reduce boundry artifacts. Can anyone clue me in?
