CGTalk - Motion Vectors

Hello All,

I have a question related to motion vectors.

I believe 3dsMax can export motion vectors in a .RPF format called a velocity vector.

My questions is, are there any other compositing apps other than Combustion that can deal with that data? Also, I'm assuming that Combustion can deal with that, to control the amount of motion blur on objects.

Anyone have any experience/insight on this topic?

Hi,

3dsmax can render out an RPF with a vector channel. Sort of like a Z-depth Channel. The velocity channel is used to apply motion blur intelligently to the image in combustion. This is embedded directly in the pixels of the RPF.

Motion vectors are not part of the RPF as far as I am aware.
