Hey wassup guys, Im currently workin on an environment for school. Now i have a camera pan of the fully textured version. And i would also like to include a wiremesh + grey normal map version, which i will have fade in and fade out durring the camera pan. Now im using the push modifier for the one mesh, that goes overtop the Normal map / Grey model. But because its a third party renderer, it wont pick up proper lighting information because of the push modifier model. Ive tried other methods like just using my UV maps in the Diffuse channel. But it doesnt seem to work very well on edges.

Im tryin to acomplish something like this..but with a third party render, Brazil. Is it even possible?? Thanks.

I'm a little confused as to what sort of problem you're having. Why not just use this map...

http://www.maxplugins.de/max8.php?search=edgemap&sort=Author

to get the wireframe of your objects? No push modifier necessary.

Could you provide an example? I use the push modifier with brazil all the time and don't have a problem.

Unfortunately, the first plugin seems like it hasn't been recompiled for 9 yet. The other program is a script so that should work in 9 without the need for a recompile. Or you can bother Andrew (the author of the plugin) to get it recompiled.

realy?? Well i dojn know what to show u, cuz everytime i render with the push modifier over the original grey model ( with normal map) it renders all black!! I must be doin somethin wrong ?

here's a link of the model with normal map Only. The push Model is hidden. What i did for the push modifier was just make a copy of the whole building, attact it all, then added the push modifier with a black material, and Wire Checked On. But like i said everytime i render it out it comes out as a black render.

Also. i just tried that script it doesnt seem to work with normal mapped models.

Its based on the faces of the actual object, so it won't show a wire of the normal map details.

Ah, ok. So it's not that brazil doesn't use the push modifier. It's that brazil doesn't work with the wire material, to do a wire like material in brazil, you need to use one of those other wireplugins like edgemap, which unfortunately doesn't work in max9 yet. So I'm afraid you're stuck, at least with regards to using that technique.
