Great pic!
I love the style here, your brushwork is not too tight. Also there's a strong and daring contrast between the blue and orange. Something about this picture is really close to my heart. Reminds me of Greg Capullo (artist for the Spawn). Keep up the good work! :)
By the way, shouldn't it be Executioner instead? ;)

Yeah, Such a cool image with great composition. It has a hint of Simon Bisley to it, yet a very unique style of its own.

Nope..
this is neither Greg Capullo, Bisley nor Final Fantasy
This si absolutely Master Katsuya Terada.. i believe you're one of his disciples :D
you capture his style nicely :buttrock:
great work kunkka.
i don't really understand why people is always doing comparisons between a pic they're seing and authors they know... probably this pic has some influences, but let the author himself tell them, it's easier.

Hiya,
Nice! I'm just wondering how could he cut those heads if the axe/sword is not used i.e. clean. :surprised
(A reason can be they've lost their head because his nipples... :D Just joking! Nice pic!)

I agree Mikko K, the brilliance and contrast in colors is absolutely mesmerizing. The soft, wide, wavey strokes hyponitizing. The pose/positioning awe-inspiring. Fantasitic work :applause:
Nice work, like the style ..! woohoo!:bounce:
Dude thats cool, love the coloring, looks like Skeletor's, from He-man, younger meaner brother. Where's He-Man Jr. to fight him?

i'm not quite sure how you can work around this but the only thing i don't like is how both characters are the same color.. and i almost lose the head of the forground character against the bg character.

I think you should just ignore any posts about the nipples. I think they rock and they're a part of the anatomy... And who says that this guy in his spare time doesn't mind getting some nookie. Anyways, it's artistic license, if you want them, keep them.

One thing I'd like to add..
I think it's good to listen to other people's opinions but when it comes to making decisions, YOU alone should be the one to make them. I don't think there's any "flaws" in the picture, and I don't see a need for any extra blood or dirt on the blade. Not to even mention the nipple comments ;)
Why?
I feel that some of the critique (joke or not) is really missing the point, not that I'm blaming anyone. Many of the comments are like: 'I don't like the detail X - but otherwise a great pic'. That's a load of bullshit to me, because I think one should look at the picture as a WHOLE, no matter what the artist has decided to give us. Everyone has opinions, but not everyone can make a difference. So instead of whining, try to create something that's better than what you have seen. When someone asks for an opinion like 'does this character's proportions seem right?' - I think that's when you should tell how you see it.
This is about the only thing that makes me not want to discuss a lot in here. I often feel that would just be waste of time. Maybe this is part of the whole scene being more technical than artistic. I know that a lot of people will disagree with me, but hell. Hang me.
-m
Mikko K: I agree that the final decision is the artist's and a good comment always helps.
But what if a picture does not have any problem? Would you expect an empty thread? :D
I think the motivation is coming from the long "Nice pic, dude!" thread.
Furthermore it's not the WIP section, anyway.
Don't get me wrong, be welcomed!
And even I had a comment on nipples (not bothers me, was only joking) and sword, that pic went into my C:\Inspiration directory! :)

You're absolutely right that an empty thread has no purpose and is really *the worst* critique someone can get.
The more praise the better.
I just often get pissed off when I get the impression that people are only concentrating on small details. That might not be the case really, someone might like the pic a lot and just mention some funny detail. But it worries me if young and talented people are too focused on what others expect them to do, if that makes any sense to you. Maybe I got a little carried away with the last comment anyway ;)
