This is my first challenge, kind of scary but the theme sounds really fun so I just had to join this one. I will do my best and wish you all good luck.

I have been thinking and thinking and this is what I got. The theme is the classic knight vs. dragon but with a funny twist, I hope.
Story: The greatest knight in the whole country has been called out to kill a dragon who have been terrorising the kingdom but nothing is as the knight first thought.
Let me know if it sucks och if you think it could fly.

So I have settled for my final concept based on my first sketch. The dragon is the champ just waiting in the boxing ring for the next challenger of the title. A long line of knights waiting for their turn. I'm going for a cartoon look. environment will have a very stylized feel. The characters will be cartoons but with more realistic textures. I just hope I will finish in time.

Love the last one, really funny concept. :)

OK, Here are my Characters. The Dragon and two knights. I will model two more knights but they will be more hidden from view and the rest of the knights will be more of silhouettes. The knight with the sword will be in the ring. I changed the pose of the dragon in order to get a sense of action.
The base models has been modeled in Max and imported to ZBrush where hopefully the magic will take place. The remaining knights and props will come later as my access to max is very limited and I may have to model some props straight in Zbrush.
Would appreciate your comments.

Funny idea, I love it! #1 is my favorite, and there's nothing funnier than a knight and dragon (sworn enemies at birth) handling their arguments with boxing. Good Luck!

Love the proportions on the dragon.

I have not submitted in a long time, lots of things getting in the way. But here is a test render of the composition. I will most likely move the trees around and of course add more of them. The castle in the background will be a classical fairy tale castle with lots of towers and spires and of course the rest of the knights waiting in line are missing. any feedback on the comp would be great!

Very inteteresting work! I like the camera position and angle a lot!
The more detailed castle is a great Idea!

So it has been a long time since I posted, been working hard lately so my work here has suffered. But now I'm back. So much god stuff in this competition that I'm getting nervous!
I have changed the poses of the dragon and knight to more of an action pose and also the perspective and a new image crop. I will twist the knights head more to really feel the impact.
Oh, and the titel of my work will now be "Fight Club"
I have a week of so I will finish this during the coming days, and I will post my progress more frequently!
Let me know what you guys think!

I like the idea and the characters are great, especially the dragon. Some work again to do on the human pose I think.
This is extremely humorous! Lovely concept and modeling. I am curious, what will the render style be?:bounce:

Thanks, glad you guys like it! The camera view works better for me now!
"authentic" Yes the knight needs more work, mainly the head. I really want him to feel the blow!
"Hiun" I'm curious too, think it will be soft pastel look...if I can! Do you have any suggestions?
To be very honest with you, that soft pastel sounds PERFECT to me. When I look at your concept and modelling I see an image that begs for a very RICH color render. I am not really a 3D person and I don't really know much about the rendering techniques and so forth (I really wish I did, and I do hope to get into it soon). But the sound of soft pastel (because I know what pastel is) in my mind is very fitting for your piece. :)
I hope you can! It will be great
Best of luck and success, I keep my fingers crossed that you are successful:bounce:

Psychoart. The knight have just been hit ? SO I think he can be a little more in air and the head could be completely turn to us, due to the blow.

Oh my god! I have to step it up if I am going to finish on time. modeling and texture for the dragon is almost done. still have to fix the wings and horns and the gloves.
I have improved the knights pose hope it will work. His face will need some work. After the main characters are done. I really have to move it now, really feeling the pressure.
Anyway hope you like it so far!
