View Full Version : Character: Mouse
aspiretek 03-20-2003, 11:21 PM Hi, this is a character for an animated short film I'm doing for school. Modeled in Max5 with polys. Will be rigged, textured and animated in Maya.
Please let me know your thoughts and any suggestions about construction or style I could use to make him better. :wip:

Nice looking model I especially like the definition in the hands and arms, looking good. Only concern I have is that the legs are really short, which makes it rather difficult in the rigging process. Only reason Im saying this is I posted a model that Ive been working on and the same thing was brought to my attention, I rigged it up and it looks like hes wearing a pair of pants when he walks with all the overlap in the skin, not sayiing it cant be done, just saying its difficult to make it look natural. Im still working on my rigging, its coming along.
Heres the link to mine

But i like your model really clean and original design, keep on posting!!

hey, cool funny character !
i think you should make the muzzle shorter, and redone the eyes,
make them with sphere it would look better i think.
Good work !:D

Hey!
Thanks for the comments... :bounce:
ckpew99: Thanks for the kind words about my model. Actually the point about he legs you bring up has been a concern for me too.... Since this is a cartoon style mouse that walks on his hind legs, it wasn't exactly clear how i should contruct them. Now that I look at it, I can see I will probably have some problems rigging him....I'll try a few things and see what i come up with. Btw, I saw your cat......i like it
mansig: Heh, thanks! He will kinda have an attitude too....an impatient personally of sorts. I'll think about the eyes, I orginally had spheres, but I opted to experiment with a more cartoonish style flat eye with animated pupils....I'm gonna see how it looks animated before going back.
Thanks again for you compliments!
Ill post revisions as they happen. :wavey:
