View Full Version : My girl, now textured
Lomax 03-20-2003, 08:48 PM It took me long enough, but I finally got a texture on her!
Now to either work on the other map channels, or the rest of the body...

It's really a nice head, very individual style. But in my opinion this has nothing to do with "textured". You added some base colors so far, that's the first step towards texturing, but a texture is more than just a simple color. Just add bumpmaps, specularmaps, and so on, you know how this works :wip:

I'm just getting started on the other maps.
My main problem is that I know plenty on the Maya side, but I'm clueless when it comes to painting the maps. I'm learning as I go... :hmm:

Just a minor update - added spec and bump maps, and made some tweaks to the color map.

That's already a huge improve! Now try to make the skin more irregular by adding pores and stuff. Around the eyes and nose the skin should be a little more red (just a little) and so on, be creative
i like the head but i the only problem is the neck i think , its a little bit small.
good work

Thanks for the advice, cANt. I was planning an adding feckles and pores later today, but I wanted to find out if I'm going in the right direction, first :p
One other thing I'll have change is the eyes. I want them to be a weird (unnatural) color, but I'd still like to get them to look more or less like real irises. Luckily I've found some images that'll make this easier. :)

Just a minor update: I added more red to some the nose, around the eyes, and on parts of the ears (not sure how well it shows). I've also added a few layers of freckles, and I'm still toying with the overall skin tone.
