Once you're doing an illustration of teenagers, even Elvish ones, pretty much anything you depict could be considered "strange behavior!" There are certainly a number of strange behaviors to choose from in this picture: With an entire, lush fantasy world to explore, why are the guys content to sit around a table playing make-believe? And why are they playing a game of humans in offices? Does Aloriel actually find Normiel kind of cute? And does he believe he has a snowball's chance in Mordor with her? And most people consider folks who sit around playing escapist fantasy games pretty strange anyhow, right?
For me, the strangest behavior of all is the act of looking down on others, just because they have different interests, or different ways of interacting with their friends and with society than you may. The girls on the right are pretty full of themselves to think that the guys are worthy of scorn just because they spend their time role playing. Do their interests and priorities really make them that much better? They think so... Strange behavior, indeed!
Okay, here's a new version with Yoff's observant note taken care of... or at least improved a little. Thanks, Yoff! Hope I'm all done now...?

Congratulations! Literally this is a different and an amazing point
of view. Also all the details on everything like the expressions,

CONGRATS Mike:scream:! This is another finished masterpiece, aside from the overall composition and the details, I'm always amazed on how you make each characters tell their own story by looking on their actions and expressions..

Thanks, Tibor! You know, it's funny, I used to never do landscapes and environments like this, I just always tended towards interiors and close in views because I didn't want the landscape to take away from the characters. But ever since "Journey Begins" I've been giving more sweeping panoramas a try, and it's working pretty well, I guess! :) Anyhow, missed you for most of this Challenge, sorry you didn't have the time this time 'round.
Thanks for the comments everyone! Glad everyone's liking the piece, and especially happy that the expressions and poses and such read well to folks.
It's also really good to be done: With a baby around now, most of my time on this piece has been very early mornings or very late nights, so it's nice to not have to go to work after everyone else goes to bed... whew!
Anyhow, hope your peices are all done or nearly there, too. Good luck!

Hey congratulations Mike. I really like what you wrote with it too - definitely pointing out some strange behavior. Is it too late to turn it into a vertical (portrait) composition? No, all joking aside, you've done a superb job. The subtleties and dynamics going on between all the characters are depicted beautifully and the setting is wonderful. This is a very strong entry in this challenge. Good luck with the voting

Thanks everyone! Yes, I am definitely getting more family time now that I'm done. Not getting more sleep, though, as you suggested: Instead of working on my Challenge entry, I've been staying up late playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess instead. I put off starting it 'til this piece was done. And it's been ages since I dug out my watercolors - time for a small break from the digital. :)
Anyhow, thanks for the kind notes, and especially for not adding anything else I need to fix! :D Good luck, all!
