Dear Friends

After a while thinking about what should I do for the contest I decide finaly it was time to have my feet wet . I started working on a idea and decide to present all the step by step process as a timelapse video capture. What you will see in this first moment is just a step I call " free up your mind ! " . I just start sketching with a very rough idea in mind . I have no specific image to fallow in this first moment but just a kind of main theme and I will be pusuiting a final composition where I really have to decide every detail . Most of the elements in this composition you see in this first moment will probably desapear once I reach the refining part of the process . things will be always changing in order to achieve best results . So , hope you enjoy !

Moving to the next step , the process keep going as the same before . Just sketching the idea without a true compromise with perspective, distances or scale . Of course it must have some of these elements , but I mean it's not the moment to take care about this . I am first trying to give a body to an idea I have in mind . Later I will take care about every detail of my composition adjusting them to the final result .

Very interesting way to show your method - quite inspired!, How do you produce a movie file like that, Do you use Final Cut or is it a plug-in for Photoshop/Painter?

Well, I like the idea, it kinda reminds me of the old cartoon wacky races though obviously well buffed up with sci-fi. Keep on going Roberto, and keep posting the movie files, they are good tuition!

Hi Friends

Just one more step in the process . Now I am defining some buildings on the backgroung as adding some shadows to the main creature . In the mean time I have alredy started defining some elements of the scene and will post it soon . Hope you enjoy !

Thats really cool Roberto, thanks for that I shall investigate further. In the meantime I am really liking the latest sketches however I do have one minor crit and that is the introduction of the little guy at the back there in the distance between the beasts legs, his presence seems to make that part of the negative space a little too busy. I had envisioned you putting in some nice smokey atmospherics down there, maybe smoke trails you see from tear gas cannisters and the like. Just a suggestion though buddy, keep up the good work.

Maybe it's true for the guy ; however I like the atmosphere. Especially the contrast between a city mood and some middle age towers in the background. If you deal weel with the atmospheric perspective, that should be very nice !
