just wanting to mark my partipation in this challenge....
have a few other things going on at the same time but I hope to find enough time to prduce some sort of entry....
the ideas are swirling in my head so hopefully something will materialise soon....

Congrats on pole position mate:thumbsup: First in best dressed

lol....cheers....was surprised to be first in as well....
some ideas i'm rolling around
- a GI joe performing 'open-fluff' surgery on a teddy bear in the middle of a warzone
- a flea civilisation
- what does go on inside the brain of an average _______? (still haven't thought of something)
although that first idea is growing on me immensely....

Ok Paul, let's see...
Cool to see you there ! Scofield will wait...

Okay this is a quick mockup of what I'm thinking about for this challenge.
I've changed the idea from being a teddy being operated on by GI Joe to having GI joe mourning the loss of the teddy after surgeyr failed to save him.....
(the rig used in this pic is from cryptic studios and is not my creation...however the bear is...lol)
I'm going to do a paintover of this image to give a better idea but I'll be including things such as:
- stitched on crosses for his eyes
- "surgical tools" (ie needle, thread, scissors, sewing machine)
- camouflage fur maybe
- possibly a fluffy stitched up intestine in GI-joes hand....

there was just too much cotton all over the place, he was a goner...there was nothing the doctor could do was there...the poor little fella never had a chance...
06-26-2007, 05:01 AM
lol....nah no hope....he was totally stuffed....:scream:
can't believe i just said that.......oh well.....lol
06-26-2007, 06:06 AM
I can't wait to see it fleshed out.

i've been trying to think of a name to put to this, i had thought of "mourning the loss" (as above) but didn't really like it....
so I was thinking and thinking and finally came up with
"Bear is now asleep"
whether i stick with it or not will remain to be seen but i like it
06-26-2007, 08:37 AM
I left out a lot of the small details because I didn't want to spend a long time doing the concept sketch....
there'll be things in the background (other GI's and teddy soldiers) and items scattered in the foreground (the surgical stuff)
its rough as guts but i'm happy with it

You could always do something dramatic sounding like "I had his stuffing on my hands Sarge... I had his stuffing on my hands!!"
06-27-2007, 06:38 AM
lol...there are so many possibilities....
last night i started modelling a few of the surgical props, things like:
- cotton spools
- safety pins
- spare buttons (for eye transplants)
- patches of fabric
once I get those a bit further along i'll post em up...
what other sewing stuff could i have for surgery? any ideas would be appreciated....lol..maybe a zipper or two...
