Hey everyone,

I am starting a new matte painting. I want this to be my first try at camera projection so I thought I would get this thread started :D Right now it is just some basic thumbnails and I started working on the final concept now in ps that I will post it once I am done hopefully tonight :D

I want to make a house that is on its last leg and very close to falling. And I was thinking it would be nice to start it off looking up at the sky , with lots of jets passing in the distance and then the camera pans down and you see the house. and crits or ideas would be great :D

Lookin good Matt!

Im sure you will produce something great from this. Thumbs look pretty cool so far. Composition looks ok to me :thumbsup:

I'm a little confused as to what you want to do. Are you wanting to create a series of digital matte paintings for like a mini movie or just one? lol

Your thumbnails look nice though! It would be cool to see this really old ancient looking house and then see this futuristic type city in the background and it's been there forever. The jets idea would kind of put some meaning behind them as well. I like that final thumbnail at the bottom as well. It make your house a focal point and you could add background material if you wish.

I'm excited to see your outcomes/more ideas :)

Hey thanks Nick!

Hope everything will turn out ok. This will be a bit different for me. Going to take a real stab at the whole camera projecting thing so now its time to put those gnomon dvds to good use :D

Here is the concept so far , I think its pretty much done now except for maybe a few more tree patches in the background and foreground rocks on the left. so then I am going to make a basic scene in max and try out some camera moves just with basic shapes.
