Could be that the brush you're using is set to texture or has too much spacing (brush settings).

Just two problems..
1: How do i see if i got it setted on texture
and
2. What and where is spacing?

Assuming you're using Painter X:
Use Window > Brush Controls > General
That will open all of the Brush Controls palettes, docked as a group.
Click the General palette name to expand the palette and look at the Subcategory name. If it includes the word "Grainy" the brush variant interacts with Paper texture.
You can control the amount of texture in the brush stroke by adjusting the Grain slider either in the Brush Controls' General palette or on the Property bar (when the brush variant is on that interacts with Paper texture).
The Spacing palette is also in the Brush Controls' palette group. Click the Spacing palette name to expand the palette and you'll see the first slider is Spacing. The second slider is Min Spacing (minimum spacing). Adjust these two sliders until your brush dabs are spaced the way you want them.
When your brush variant all set up the way you like, it would be a good idea to save it as a custom brush variant. To do that, go to the Brush Selector menu, click Save Variant, and type a unique and descriptive name not already used by Painter. Look at the brush variant list to see that your new custom brush variant is there. If it is, now go back to the original variant to which you made the changes and restore it to its default state (Brush Selector menu > Restore Default Variant).
Cheers!
