View Full Version : 2D Art / Comic: Evil Rat WIP
JonasNoell 03-20-2003, 03:53 PM Hello everyone!
I am just working on a new wallpaper that is about some kind of evil looking rat sitting in a dark part of a backstreet alley. I just started with the "main character" ;) Hopy you enjoy...

Looks good so far. Nothing to really comment on yet, except maybe give him some bigger, or more noticable teeth. Are you doing this in Photoshop?

Thx for comment ;) Till now he doesn't have any teeth, let's see if I will add some later, but expectingly not.
Yeah I am working with Photoshop 7.0 and draw with the mouse
:hmm:

You're drawing with a mouse?! Now I'm really impressed.
Do yourself a favor and get a tablet. Even a cheap one is 100 times better than using a mouse. It's soo much faster and easier on the fingers.

It's obviously a photo paintover, why else would you have that paw so clearly outlined now? Haha, just kidding :D I like it so far. I don't really know how to draw, and I was wondering, is there a sketch that you're painting on, or did you just make a silouet of the rat and fill in the details without drawing any lines?

FatAssasin: Yeah, well till now I always drew by mouse, but I am shure I will buy one of these tablets very soon, though I don't know if it's REALLY that much easier, let's hope so
E.Z. Schwartz: :D Don't drive me mad, I already had this discussion in another toppic. Well I was inspired by some kind of rat I saw in a magazine commecial, and worked out some pencil sketches, and so on. Unfortunately I don't own a scanner (any more), so I tried to reconstruct the shape first very basic like (see the blury feet and so on) and then built up a sharp shape of the rat. :bounce:
The main reason I am doing this it's because this gonna be the logo for an upcomming game-eninge called RFX (Rat Effects). But I plan to do some kind of wallpaper with this rat, too, so let's see. It's still in the very beginning :p

FatAssasin: Just visited your page and noticed that I know your work out of the book "Digital Fantasy Painting" by Michael Burns. Really cool to meet all those great artists here

You've been watching Willard. Feel kinda excited seeing the end product, would be great with a background. Great picture and he definately looks evil. Keep up the great work. Wanna see more, and more of that pretty girl as your avatar.:applause:

Flog: The "pretty avatar girl" is my last larger project I did in Photoshop. It's nearly finished, and only her bra needs to be done, and her fingernail, I think maybe I'll find time this weekend to finish this, and post it in the gallery section :)
Damn, I love working on several projects on the same time, so I get's never boring :bounce:

Just a little update. Just fixed the problem with the skin color and worked out the arm. Uff it was kinda hard because it's quite detailled. Bet well after 2 hours it finally worked :)
C & C appreciated

He could be sitting on a big sewer pipe with dirty, sludge water pouring out of it.
