Hi all, IMHO one of the most annoying thing in C4D is that when I copy or cut some object, then when I paste, the object is put by default in the root level and not in a desired sublevel (for example in Realsoft this is possible) :scream: . Do you know some plugin or workaround?

Sorry for my poor English, I hope you can understand what I mean

i was just thinking that about 10 mins ago when i did it too.

altho it's literally a 3 second job to drag and drop it where you want it on the stack :)

Yes I know it isn't a big problem, but when you work with alot of objects is quite tedious

In the object manger hold ctrl and click and drag the object to the deisred sublevel.

Thanks for reply. I know the CTRL method but I think the main problem is that Cinema insert also new object by default in the root (I explained the problem in a very bad way, sorry but I'm at work and I haven't so much time for thinking).
Thanks guys

It would also be nice to have a 'paste as instance' option.

I wouldn't think it would be that hard to write a plugin to paste an object and move it to the hierarchy of the selected object, but what do I know. I think I'll suggest it on Maxon's plugin suggestion forum.

Thanks AdamT.

Good idea rirad!

I have to agree that this is a pet peeve of mine and I find it kind of absurd that there isn't an option to paste into selected. Sometimes the simplest most obvious everyday needs go unanswered the longest.

I will welcome a plugin to do this, but it's the kind of thing that should really be native to the program.

MJV I completely agree with you and I think (hope) that is a very simple thing to do
