is there any out there that will aid in the work flow. I don't know if BMRT will work, if it does is it tough to use? Thanks

that seems like a noce renderer. thanks for the link. Do you have any idea if it is a fast renderer or not?

its best to try and see for yourself ,

the GI is slow , other than that it seems pretty fast.

its free so we cant bitch about the speed :D

Hi Chris Olsen !!!
There is my fake GI solution on this problem
the script is called Pre render Pyramid !!!
You can download it here http://www.highend3d.com/maya/mel/?section=rendering#1597 !!! It's faster that virtual light !!!

thanks again :)
What do you guys use for a normal render, meaning an animation that you are rendering off. GI, fake or not, would take way too long so do you use MAYA'a native renderer or is there another renderer out there? Thanks again

my very first render with Mray for Maya, appart from some testing on simple Plane/sphere:p

the scene is not perfect, with a lot of tentacles penetrating thrue eachOther. and the spheres isnīt very nice, but alittle tweaking and problem solved.
i made it to see the color bleed Raytrace and shadow. a bunch of tenticles should show it!

Its FinalGather.. the 'real' GI i have to test some other time;)
Mray is not free, hehe, and i wish i own it! so free GI/FG render anyone?? with the power of Mray and Brazil that is:D

Troydm , when I try to access your website to get the documentation on your GI script, it comes up with errors and redirects me to what I suppose is your host.

Thanks,
