View Full Version : Problem: Maya Fog and transparency maps

I have a scene with trees mapped on planes including alpha channels and also some paint fx converted to polys where the leaves also have alphachannels.

When I render the scene with fog (envirnment fog, volume fog, fluid fog) I allways get little artifacts. small black pixels in the parts with the alphachannels.

seems maya can't render fog and transparencies, we tried maya textures (ramp etc) as transparency and it doesn't work either.

This questions was asked a few times before here but never got an answer, so I try again

...seems like a mayor bug and I hope there is a work around. I will go and see if Mental Ray produces the same errors.
