View Full Version : "WHOOPS!!!" - Hero - ed-it

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking for a looong time now, so figured it was about time I actually submitted something.

Here's my idea (actually my friend Matt's idea, bless him).

Title: Fridge Magnet.

Our hapless hero, Magneato, is practising his powers at home (as heroes do). He is blessed with the superpower of magnetism (albeit not in the animal sense). But his powers are new and unfamiliar, so he's starting off with something simple.

Our hero is trying to magnetically levitate a spoon off of the table and into his manly grasp.

He focuses.

"NOW, now I will show you my power" he booms to no one in particular, beckoning majestically towards the spoon on the nearby table.

The spoon remains motionless.

Our hero gestures again. And again. And waves his fingers. And strains.

We see the spoon twitch!

His strain becomes elation as the spoon begins to move towards him ... it's working! ... the spoon moves towards him in little tugs ... he's over the moon! he has a super power! he is MAGNEATO!...

and then a fridge lands on him ...

(Hence the title).

I'll have a go at doing some character sketches tonight, and maybe a story board.

Looks very promising.
Don't worry about your sketches, they're plans, and the vital part is that you're doing your thinking on paper before you spend a lot of time in 3D


I hope you keep the simplicity of your character that is in your sketches. Something simple done really well is always a joy to look at.

Thanks Colin and Jay!

Yes, I definitely intend to keep the models simple and focus on tweaking the animation as much as I can. Should be fun to do some really cartoony style animation.
