Title: O2
Name: Antonio Caparo
Country: Canada
Software: Bryce, Photoshop

In the early 90s I discovered Jean Michel Jarreīs "Oxygene" disc. Itīs sounds of fresh breath, clean technology and hope brought lots of visual ideas to my mind which were translated in sketches. Here is the final result 15 years later. I still love that disc.
Made in Photoshop plus a basic Bryce render for the glass helmet.
Comments are welcome!

I love this piece. The hair in particular got my attention. It looks almost as if you could reach in and feel it. Awesome.

this piece is absolutely beautiful to me, and reminiscent of the 80's style in some way (the armor design). I'd love to see the old sketch actually.

Hi everybody. Nice to have you back! Thanks a lot for your comments. Yes, there could be reminiscenses of the 80s here, Iīve been looking lots of Jim Burns illustrations recently. :)
Iīve been for half and hour trying to paste an attachment of the old drawing but I coudnīt. It asks for a URL from where to take the image but I have it in my hard drive, not in the web. If someone can help me out with this. Iīve left a mess of neurons all over my keyboard trying.

Beautiful image. The character design is brilliant!.
You can post the sketch on Photobucket.com, then link it from there. I'd love to see it too.

Sorry about the paper foldings, it a very old india ink sketch -more than 10 years- and the paper was not very good. As you can see is a bit different from the final one. I changed the direction of light and wind, made a more complex suite, studied the hair shape in more detail and most important, I changed the face. I wanted something more soft and round. I love the portraits of Dominique Ingres and I was sutdying him for this piece. This man was a natural psicologist. Everything is in the faces he painted.
Enjoy!

Oh, I like this new image much more than the old sketch. The face is so interesting now, not merely a generic pretty woman. And the rendering on all of it, especially that hair...! I can totally see some old Jim Burns influence in the rendering of the metal on the armor... not like that's a bad thing. ;) Great work, Kaparo, I absolutely love it! You should enter this for Exotique if you haven't already.

Awesome pic. I love everything about it except for the shape of the head. The style is great but the shape of the jawline as opposed to the length of the neck is hurting the image in my opinion. Love your portfolio by the way. Cheers

I love the face, at the same time strange and sensual.

Gorgeous I love it, when I listen Jean Michele Jarre's Oxigene comes to my mind other kind of images, but is a nice vision of the song :D

Thank you all once again! I already submit it to Exotique, Michael. Wish me luck on that!
Jim Burns has been one of those artist I am please to watch again from time to time, good nostalgic memories form my art student times. Same thing with Jarre. Now I realize: they both came almost at the same time to my life. Cheers!
