Hi there,

Last weekend, CGSociety went off down to the VES 50; an all-weekend festival of Visual Effects, with a huge panel forum about the 50 most influential VFX films of all time.

Click the image, have a read and come on back to comment.

Interested to read on the use of VFX for changing images and the benefit of "those in power". Its always easy to blame "those in power" for censorship.

I think it should be remembered that an awful lot of output in the entertainment industry is now censored because at the time it was produced it contained items or terms very often related to race or sex that now are no longer acceptable. Of course such material should not be condoned but by erasing it we re-write history anyway.

Media output more than almost anything else reflects the time it is produced in and re-editing for political correctness while admonishing others for censorship is hypocrisy.
