I really like the pencil drawing, the "wings" are great. The lighting shows great promise, but there are some problems now I think. The light source is fairly small, but seems to be casting a wide area of light. Her forehead should not be as illuminated as it is, and her breast looks very flat because the light shines on way too much of it. In fact, I think most of it should be in shadow because the light is not in front of it. Same thing goes for the tentacle-ish things her arm turns into. The fatter one should have more shadow and the one below shouldn't have the light color at all, just various levels of the shadow.

She could use an ear, by the way. Either that or some more hair in front of where the ear should be. Right now the hair looks too flat/sleek to cover up her ear. And this is probably a taste thing, but I think her waist is really unnaturally thin and could use some thickness and softening. Overall she looks rather plastic right now, not just because of the smooth colors but because her shape isn't very organic. The curves are too uniform.

The character is done to be stylized looking so she may look unnatural by design. I did some of the things you suggested. I also played around with blending options again, and at some point I may use one of them to give the character a better colorization, because I'm not completely satisfied with it yet. Here is the latest. The light source was finally added to be more obvious. I realize it must look like a strange thing, but the black sphere is supposed to represent a world seperate from hers, one which she loves like a creator to its creation.

A few more things done, the wings base color filled in, the angel's body lightened in color using blending options/advanced opacity, dulling down the black sphere, and adding in the basic start of the clouds below her.

Worked more on the clouds, I'm happy with them right now. I'm getting in some of the shading in the wings now.

More work on the wings, such as smooth shading, the black orbs, and feather shading. The feathers are going to have both green and purple colors.

Feather detail/color is done, and I added a shine/reflection to the orbs in the wings. Not sure if it's done yet, but it feels like it's may be.

I think these drawings are very beautiful. Great job and coloring. Like the mood and lighting.

I do however like your first rendition of her when she had darker shadows. I think the contrast works very well.

The orbs kind of bother me just because it looks like the lighting on them is all the same and it shouldnt be. ALso even MORE shading on them to make them look even MORE orb like.

Thankyou everyone so far:) I've added the last few touches by lowering the opacity of the linework, and changing the color of the black sphere to that of an orange hue.

Hello I like what you have done so far...and the drawing is beautiful but I still think it would look better darker and the orbs even more orb like. I hope you dont mind but I did a little overdraw for you...from there you can do what you wish. Good luck and Im giving you stars!!:thumbsup:
