nmCurveField is a dynamics plugin for Maya 4.5 to control the motion of particles with a nurbs curve that acts as a force on the system.

This is a great tool idea.

I've been wanting something like this for quick choreography of large crowds. I've contacted Colin and Hopefully he will be able to make a linux version too.
