View Full Version : Scriptgurus: Meshtools error!!!
Out of the blue Meshscript now seems to refuse to work. I have no clue what I changed in max (I did uninstall and reinstall some plugins yesterday) but I keep on getting an error message:
When executing most Meshtools commands I get
MaxScript MacroScript Error Exception
-- Type error: Call needs fuction or class, got: undefined
I've reinstalled Meshtools to no avail.
Can anyone give me a pointer?
Thanks
Wiro

Don't know if it would help anyway, but did you use the meshtools remover script before reinstalling it
same problem here :(
had to reinstall max :/
Thanks for the replies. Yes I did try the mesh remove script.
I've wanted to reinstall max (actually my whole windows install) for a while to get rid of junk but it's the whole license circus that keeps me back. Ah well, maybe this weekend.

could be anything really . . . might be that you un-installed a plugin which might've removed something Meshtools relies on . . .
or it's just Bad Mojo ;)

maybe somehow epoly got screwed up?
have you tired doing a repair of max? rather than a format and install everything again..
see, this is why you should make images of your drives! you only have to plop the working image back on and away you go again.

Email the script to me at zoobafoo76@yahoo.com and maybe I can fix the script
Well, I kinda want to clean my system anyway so I guess I'll do it this weekend.
The Man: it's not the script (I didn't create it), it's been working fine for me and a million other 3dsmax users for ages...it just suddenly decided to play difficult...
Thanks anyway

usually when an error like this occurs, a maxscript window also pops up showing the line where the error occurred. does this happen with you? if yes, could you post this line (and some lines before and after) ?
try starting a new 3dsmax.ini file...
magicm: no, that was the only window I got. I'll give it another go when I get home (it's my own copy of max)
halo: yes, i tried a fresh max.ini too...no go.

This might be worth a try:
After you unistalled and reinstalled Meshtools, was your Meshtools Quad setup still there?
If so, try deleting all Meshtool tools from your Quads and reassign them. Hopefully that'll rewire them. (hopefully)
