That is interesting. Did they do everything digital in this film, from a to z? The Storyboards, the concept art, it's all done on the computer now.
Eh? I see a few chalk drawings in there.
Unless that's Painter again! Who can tell nowadays? :D

I just picked up the Art of Ratatouille book, it's really inspiring! Though a ton of concept art was done digitally, not ALL of the concept art was done on computers. Maquettes were still sculpted in clay, and there are plenty of hand-drawn sketches that are dated early as 2001. Storyboards are most likely a combo of hand drawings and tablet sketches before they were brought into a storyboarding/editing prog. There are some cool digital paint-overs of some of the maquettes in the book too. Definitely check it out!

^^^Yeah there's plenty of analog art in the book. I absolutly loved all of the lighting tests where they digitally painted over 3d renders. I'd never thought about trying that before, and they look fantastic. In fact, if I remember correctly the Gusteau's Kitchen paintings, "Linguini and Colette", and the very bottom "Ratatouille" paintings were done this way.
