hey, ppl!

i've been looking fo info on that subject for too long i guess so, maybe someone has already found the answer for me to follow their footsteps...

is there any way (plugin/filter/just any way) to create stereoscopic anaglyphs using RPF format of maybe some other format with Zbuffer?
I mean i need to create anaglyph (red/cyan stereo image) from my 3D images/animaions. there might be some post filter for AE/combustion... the only thing i found were plugins for 3d packages, that create two cameras and render out 2 sequences... that's really time consuming, so i assumed that there must be some other way... there are some game engines that have stereoscopic effect based on Zbuffer, so i guess there MUST be some post effect to achieve it too....
maybe anyone of you knows waht to do... i m reallt desperate :) :scream::D

Depends on your package, i know a way to do it via fusion, using zbuffer and 3d displacements.

how about Combustion or After Effects?
I work in 3dsMax and combustion or AE...

if you don't know how to make it in AE or Combustion, fusion is ok, i'll do it there :) so could you share?

Sure mate,

If fusion, you make a imageplane3d, connect your rgba image to it, and add a displace3d node right after it. Connect the zdepth image to your displace3d node and adjust the displacement amount. Add a merge tool and connect a 3dcamera to it.

Add a render node after the merge and make sure you set it to render the camera. Now, add a merge after the render and connect the original rgba image on top of it , set the blending mode to difference, this is to make sure the 3d camera image and the original image are at more or less the exact same position.
Adjust the camera position and focal length so that you get minimum distortion of the original image.
Copy paste the camera (rename it cam.left or somthing) into the same merge3d but move it slightly in the x axis, so that you get some paralax distortion, add another rendernode after the merge3d (where the old render branches of) and be sure to set the render to render the new camera aswell.

Now, on the 2d merge (the one with the difference) Switch the blending mode to normal, but in the Common Controls tab (the atom-icon) You turn of the red channel. And now you should have a red/green anaglyph stereoscopic image. if not, you need to tweak the camera some more.

Hope this helps! :)

god damn!!! :) right now the things you said seem chinese to me :) :) :) i need to get around in digital fusion and hopefully i will get it sorted out :)
thank you very much man!

but maybe still there is someone aware of the same effect in combustion or AE? :) :) :)
