Hello,

I need some help.
I plan to use this song for my next film project:

http://rapidshare.com/files/38060198/UNKNOWN.wav.html

Unfortunately, I don't know the title and who wrote it.
I like to credit everything as much as possible so it would be helpful if anybody has any idea what the title is and who made it.

When I first came across this file more than 2 years ago, it was simply called "Night of the Evil Dead", but there was no writer credit, no performance credit, and I don't think it's listed in the "Evil Dead" soundtrack.

Any lead would be helpful.
Thanks.

This is gonna be a tuff one. Sounds more like a special effect for a larger project (for a game maybe) than like a stand alone song.

If you cann't find the author, your safest bet is hiring a composer, showing this "song" to him and having him compose a brand new one for your project. There are composers whiling to help independent proyects in exchange for public exposure, check the collaborative proyects forum here on CGTalk.

... Or, search for another "Charlestone" song that you like and contact the copyright holder of that piece.

I think I found it already.

In Brian Carpenter's "The Sound of Horror"

There is a track listed as: "Charleston, “Evil Dead Cellar Song”, from Evil Dead"

I suppose it's not listed in the Evil Dead soundtrack because it's not made by Joseph LoDouca and since it's a 1920's song it has already passed into public domain.

Anyways, this project of mine is really just a student film, and I'm using some audio resources for parody & technical study purposes so I think I'm covered under Fair Use.

Thanks for the advice.
