View Full Version : Benchmark 3dsmax
tuba3d 06-18-2007, 09:58 PM Hi folks!
I'm from Brazil, and I have developed together with other 3d fellas a 3D Benchmark site to compare computer rendering speeds. The idea is to help everyone to choose a new computer and to evaluate your current one.
The site still is in portuguese, but a.s.a.p. I'll add an english version.
It will be great if you can contribute with some results.:applause:
The link is: http://www.benchmark3d.uni.cc

Well, a little bit late.... :bounce:
Finally I translated it to (bad) english. please find the version here: www.benchmark3d.uni.cc/index_e.php (http://www.benchmark3d.uni.cc/index_e.php).
Come on guys, send us some results to populate this public performance group.

Just after render finishes, at the status line (below at your left) you could see:

btw,
isn't there a script or something that keeps a log of renders like in other apps (AE)?

Hi Tecton
I updated your result on the table. Thanks for sending it.
I have tried some basic (timid) overclocking on my PC, here are the results:
2130(266): 12/31/65/212 = 320 sec (original)
2240(280): 12/30/61/201 = 304 sec
2360(295): 11/28/58/191 = 288 sec
2480(310): 10/27/55/182 = 274 sec
2560(320): 10/26/54/176 = 266 sec
Slowly I'll push it far away ;)

Hi guys!
I have obtained a improved result on over... It is modest but I'm quite happy ;)
At 2960Mhz => 9/22/46/152 => 229 (compared with the 320 sec of the stock Clock :O )

Tuba3d,
I've just had a look through your benches an I'm a bit confused by the results.
2nd place you have a QX6700 at stock speed (2.6ghz) ahead of my Q6600 at 3.825 ghz. And by quite a margin.
Well I've got a qx6700 as well and that just doesn't seem to add up.
The only difference I can see is the operating system, mine being xp pro and 2nd place being xp x64.
Does the op and version of max make such a huge difference?
How are you verifying the results?

Hi Russell
In fact I'm not checking the info, because I'm quite unable to do it. Maybe doing some script that generates the result could be a solution, but for the time being I'm not capable to write some tool...
Here is the post that generated the result: http://www.tresd1.com.br/viewtopic.php?t=23556&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30
If you could send me your results, I could ask him about the differences an request another test.
