Frank's Wild Years

I've always been fascinated by old planes, mostly the corsair.
the image was created with google's sketchup ( for the background). i'd been wanting to try the program out and built several makeshift buildings to make sure my perspective was right....then photoshopped over them....the corsair itself was painted in photoshop using various images as scrap.
that's pretty much it.

Quite honestly, this is probably one of the nicest things I've seen come out of SketchUp. Conceptually the way they integrate it with Google Earth is way cooler, and there's definitely buildings I've seen that are way more complex, but from a picture point of view, this is really great. I know it's mainly the stuff you did after SketchUp in photoshop that I'm liking, but still. I had no idea Sketch Up could be used for something so far beyond building concepting. Well done.

thanks.

yeah sketchup isn't that bad of a program...yes it's very limited but for my uses it serves pretty well...the buildings were just flat shaded , taken into photoshop then i just set them up in a channel really mostly just for guides.

I guess that makes sense-thanks for breaking down the process.
