Can the 8.1 update use *.pic images to lighten a scene? (i hope i'm not wrong but .pic should be a floating point format too...) :shrug:

Yes it is a floating point format, and yes C4D does work with them, though I"m not sure if its just the bad collection of PIC I have, but they all come in extremely black or extremely white, meaning you either need to dramatically increase the brightness, or dramatically lower it, some HDRI's I have found are like that, but not many.
