Professor Bulb!

Character Bio:

The nefarious arch enemy of Electra Woman had very tragic origin.
Professor Henry Lamps was a popular host of the children's science show
"Electricity is our Friend".

During the filming of a show, a science experiment went horribly awry,
and an explosion occurred. Days later Henry Lamps woke up in the hospital with a
light bulb permanently stuck to his skull. This drove him mad, and thus the evil
master of the blinding light Professor Bulb was born.

Powers:
When an evil idea come to him, the bulb on his head lights up. Needless to say this
has had a negative impact on his dates.

He carries a utility belt with different bulbs the he uses to blind his victims.
His favorite Bulb-Weapons are the Hypno-Bulb, Stun-Bulb.

Limitations:
His power can only be used on clear nights or in interior spaces. Since he has a tendency of getting shocked he has to avoid puddles of water and rain. Also because all the bulb he carries on his Bulb-Belt(c) he makes quite a racket every time he moves. Also ever since Electra Woman started wearing her Electra Sunglasses(C)his Stun-Bulbs(tm) don't work they way they used to.

To add to his streak of bad luck he has been told by his doctors to desist in his efforts of dating fellow
villaness Aquawoman.

Name of Vehicles:

Bulb-Copter(C), Buld-Sub(only used once)

Name of Lair:

Light House - House of steaks

Hi RobertoOrtiz..........

Very nice concept, well done. Also the storyline is quite good, interesting and funny.

I like the ideas they are some of the best in this challenge. You seem to have the utility belt covered well.I was thinking that you could add a Benjamin Franklin "Guide to light" manual on that utility belt,Ben would probably be your characters idle.:)

Head model is coming along very well, and it really matches the concept.I hope you can get the jacket, and overall outfit done as the sketch is done, that would be Grade A.

Einstien type hair/Fur too would be a nice touch.Perhaps a bolt of lightning Tattoo would be cool.

The bulb copter and bulb Sub would be great to see as well,if you get the time.

Well it's all looking very nice, from storyline to concept to the modeling.Keep it up,and I'll see you after another up-date.:applause:

hey, that sketch looks really nice, but the 3d head looks even better, really. Maybe the one in the sketch seems to be more evil...
Great story too. I can't wait to see the whole thing.

Nice up-dates RobertoOrtiz...............

Will you be going for a full rig?

Will you be going for a deep level of textures, you know the extra mile in painted Photoshop/painter type texture sessions. I think his face would go up to that elite level if given extra attention.A face like his needs more "Age" you know wrinkles, age spots,blemishes,etc,etc...........Put that burn and dodge tool to use on a layer will you?............;)

The vessel has that Time machine look to it in the early goings. Nice extras like this are only a plus, fun and interesting. Well keep going, you got a very nice start, full of potential.

Hi guys,
I just wanted to post an update.

I HATED the entry I had to do for the Challenge.
The rig that I used destroyed all the morph targets on the face,
and the folds on the clothes were lost.

And dont get me started on the scene.

Ok after 2 solid weeks of work after the deadline, and rebulding the rig from scratch, here is the update of the model with a rig on.

I am still working on the project.

Sweet model! Could you post a couple pics of wireframes of around the knee area and of the chest? Modeling wrinkles in clothing is hard, and you have definately mastered it! I just want to see how you laid out your polygons, and also to see how high poly it is.

Again, sweet model!

Love it, it will be a Looooooooooooooong time before I can do work like that.

But 1 question, Is'nt he supposed to have a Bulb in his head ?

RobertoOrtiz
05-22-2003, 04:38 PM
To answer pgp_protector, I had to take the bulb out of his head, after my best friend begged me to take it off his head.

Anyway here is an update.

This is a preview of the new layout for the final image.

The hole in the composition on the right is intentional:

Nice work. Excellent back story. One suggestion, though, the bulb looks strange in the profile. maybe it should stick straight off the top of his head. Someone mentioned Ben Franklin and gave me an idea that he could have a kite with a key attached that he uses to fly around and jump off buildings with.
