I've been working on a 3 minute short animation. My goal for this is to build enough material to put together some semblance of a reel (~10 years of hobby cg work and embarrassingly little finished work to show for it). At the beginning of the year I quit my job and except for a couple of months I spent recovering from a motorcycle accident I've been working on this full time. It's still in very rough shape, but what's the point of a WIP if you wait till it's done to post (at least that's what I'm trying to convince myself :p )
Here's the story brief

It's set at a Christmas jazz/swing concert. The seats are already full of people. The camera slides through the doorway and a person walks by to reveal a security guard standing in the rear of the auditorium. He looks stern, but not angry, he's obviously a man just doing his job.
The band begins to play a rendition of White Christmas and the guard begins tapping his foot. As each phrase of the song goes by he gets more and more caught up in the song and he starts swaying side to side. When the next verse begins he blinks his eyes and realizes that the auditorium is gone and he's been transported into a snowy winter wonderland. Gleefully he takes off like a kid in a candy store, running through the snow with his arms waving wildly. He jumps into snow banks, dances with a snowman, makes a snow angel, etc. As the band crescendos he slides in the snow on his knees with his arms outstretched.
Suddenly the band stops and he opens his eyes again to see the entire audience has turned around and is staring at him with big blinking eyes. He looks horrified for a second then hurriedly stands up and rushes back to where he was first standing. He stands there for a second then discreetly reaches up to straighten his cap.
cut to credits.

And that's it! As I mentioned none of it is any where near the polish stage, lots of the renders are still unsurfaced and elements are missing but any comments are appreciated, especially any critique on the animation playblasts. Cheers.
