Hi all,

I hope someone can help me out here.
I am trying to sort out a production process.
What i need to do is run a photoshop action on certain files in a directory tree.

So using the batch tool, i want to select a source folder including sub folders and apply the script. This if straight forward.

But what i want to do is have photoshop search the directorys for files with the name "apple" lets say and only apply the script to files that contain the term "apple"

this is really killing me so any help massively appreciated

Don't have the time to write up anything for you, but look up scripting for photoshop. You can run javascript, visual basic stuff and c++ scripts through photoshop. This will definitely be able to do what you want. If I had more time I'd help out, but I hope google can help you for now.

No need to write some fancy script. If you have Windows you can use Windows' search tool to find all files with apple in it and drop them onto a Photoshop droplet. You probably won't need the batch either. I've done it before and it works.
