Favourite Movie Scene (then play 'guess that film')
by embryotic
These are the rules:
You have 30 mn for your sketch. IF you go beyond the assigned time limit , you have to post WHATEVER you have done after the time has expired, along with the FINAL drawing.
Post only your FINAL piece on this thread, based on the topic on the thread.
Only final pieces can be posted on the thread. They must have been done AFTER the topic has been announced.
RESOLUTION : The image can have any aspect ratio up to 800 x 600
They can be done on any medium.
If you wish, you can add a brief text description about your piece.
Only original compositions. No "tributes" or plagiarizing, unless is it an integral part of the challenge.
You can post an entry at anytime for the topic presented on this thead BEFORE the voting thread for THE WEEK has been posted.
The artist also has to post total length of time it took and program used.
Any piece caught breaking the rules will be taken off the thread.
The topics will be picked at random from the list on the TOPICS thread >>LINK<< (http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php/?t=145003)
(The author will be given credit). So guys keep them coming.
You can add multiple entries, but please dont post WIP (Unless you intend to update them).
Good Luck

I cheated a bit and added some dialogue from my favourite movie scene, hopefully it doesn't make it too easy. I must admit I haven't had much luck deciphering movie titles so far, I've only got 4 I belive are right.

embryotic - That's definitely a (tastefully censored) scene from Babel
embryotic - I'm going to guess "Lost in Translation" on that last one
(solely because of the yellow sirt and because the guy looks vaguely like Bill Murray)
Lowki - That isn't "Logan's Run" is it? :P
(I'm guessing that because of the color scheme and the cat)
daw - looks like theres a .... pony ... in a ... box, on a little wharf, being watched by angelic, green, toilet plungers. :surprised am I close?
hehe... nop - not close at all - it's a oil rig and those are huge bells... and it's not waterworld!

Can't really say that I have a favorite movie scene, but here's a good one from one of my favorite movies. Painter IX. A little under 30m.

Thecla: Spot on, it was Casino Royale, which I highly recommend watching just for the opening credits -- lost of retro graphic styles and rotoscoped goodnesshttp://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon10.gif.
Your sketch, is it maybe from the film Rounders? (It's the only one I can think of off the top of my head that has cards in it)
Haha ok I'll watch it :)
No its not rounders, the image isnt really representive for the movie, I wanted another one but that would spoil the whole movie ^^"
It is a brittish movie to help you :)
@ embryotic - It looks a bit like POTC and then the first one ..
Thecla (http://forums.cgsociety.org/member.php?u=240601): is it Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels?

I'm suprised this came out as well as it did, I don't use a painty style very often, and forgo using any lines except to just throw a bse color and start building up.
I get rather emotional at this scene ;.; I'm sure you know what it is from, but do you know the exact scene? =3!

Looks to me like Fellowship of the Ring, after the fall of Gandalf. That's Boromir's arm around Frodo.

I thought so. :D I had to watch the movie once a day, four days in a row last summer for a program we were doing at work. It was good the first time around, not the best movie, but tolerable. After a week of it I was ready to shoot the damn monkey myself. ;)

Nice sketch tizianoadmirer: That's got to be Martin Sheen from Apocalypse Now. That's certainly one of my favourite movies.
