I am a newbie in using mental ray. It seems that mental ray is very powerful in creating different shaders... I wonder if there is any way to use two different environment maps, one for lighting and one for mirror-like reflection?
This might seem kind of weird, but what I am trying to achieve is have an HDR environment map to give the lighting (mainly from the sky), and an LDR image for the mirror-like reflection.
The image-based lighting option in mental ray rendering settings can only use one map for both reflection and lighting. I even tried to duplicate the environment sphere and put 2 different maps on them and change the render stats, but it still only takes the first environment sphere into account.
Any idea?
