Hello there,
I'm Jas and I have been floating around on this forum and some others for awhile now but have only just registered, and in typical beginner fashion its because I need help :).

I have mostly concentrated on still-life type stuff, but lately I have been putting together a small animation for fun and the thing is, I have been outputing all my renders from max as .PNG's, which was what alot of people say they do and it seems like the way to go (cinepak codec doesnt really do it for me). But now it comes time to join them all up again and im stuck, the rather old copy of ulead that I have doesnt support frames properly and I have been searching for a free app online, and so far nothing. I think that adobe premiere supports it, but I don't reeeally want to shelve out for it if im not going to use it very much and if theres free software around that can do the job.

So my question is, does anyone know of any free software that can help me join frames together and export as an avi or mpeg etc?.

Thanks alot
Jas

not free but, one really cheap option is to buy quicktime pro, which will load image sequences and let you render them as quicktimes or mpegs. plus you can do little colour corrections and other tweaks.

otherwise download something like fusion learning edition. it will watermark your renders but you can get acess to proper compositing tools

Try VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod.
