Hi, I have been unwrapping a model I made for the past few hours. I was almost done and I found a small 5 sided poly. OH NO! Is there anyway I can cut that poly in the editable poly modifer without resetting all my work on the Unwrap? I just want to go back and make a tiny geometry change without resetting the Unwrap UVW modifer. I am using 3ds max 9.

Maybe you can try, adding an edit poly (dont know if your using mesh or poly) in the stack window, making your adjustments, and then sticking a new unwrap over that. Hopefully the unwrap will remember the previous one. Or instead of adding the edit poly, actually convert the whole model to an editable poly model.( this will colapse everything in the stack window down automatically) that way the model should always include the unwrap information for later. I may be wrong, but thats the first thing i would try.

-Collapse the stack to Editable Poly.
-Check "Preserve UV's" in Edit Geometry Rollout. Now you can edit your mesh without destroying your existing UV layout. New UV vertices/edges will be created to the existing ones. Apply Unwrap UVW modifier again to continue editing your UVs.
